WHAT IS A IMPLANT SUPPORTED CROWN?
It is a ceramic dental crown that replaces a missing tooth. The crown is attached to the imlant which is surgically embedded in the jawbone. Usually implant and a crown are connected by a little screw which goes through the crown to the implant.
WHAT IS A IMPLANT SUPPORTED BRIDGE?
It is a ceramic bridge made of several crowns connected together and is used to replace several missing teeth. It has a false tooth (pontic) that is held in place by the abutment implants on either side of the gap.
“ WHAT SEPARATES DENTISTRY FROM ART IS THAT DENTISTRY IS MEANT TO BE… FUNCTIONAL”
Treatment is not painful at all, some local anesthesia might be necessary just to avoid gum irritation.
The feeling is a little bit different because your natural teeth have nerves and ligament so you feel it better. Implant supported teeth in the beginning might feel a bit strange but in few days you get used to it and you barely feel any difference.
After placing a dental implant within the bone in order to replace part of the root of the tooth, few months must pass for osseointegration to take place. After that the crown can be placed and it usually takes 2 to 3 appointments every 5-7days.
Depending on the construction and material implant supported crown can costbetween 500-750eur.
